Rice – The Controversial Staple!
Rice is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part of the world’s human population, especially in Asia. However in the affluent strata of diet fanatics, this staple cereal has still not been able to score full marks. It is most often ridiculed to lead to weight gain, or result in poor blood sugar management in diabetes, or considered to have zero nutritional value.
It is however, important to understand that no single food can prevent or cause a particular health condition. The overall lifestyle in conjugation with the dietary patterns over a period of time pave the way to one’s well being.
