Sesame Chutney
Sesame or Til chutney is an innovative way to add calcium and other bone-friendly minerals and micronutrients while adding variety and taste to your meal.
Servings: 2 cups
Ingredients
- 200 gms Sesame seeds raw
- 5 gms Cumin seeds
- 1 small pc Ginger peeled,chopped
- 1 cup Mint/ Coriander leaves washed
- 3/4 cup Lemon juice
- to taste Green chillies
- to taste Salt
- 1/2-1 cup Water
Instructions
- Heat a pan and add the cumin, dry roast on a low flame till evenly roasted and aromatic. Set aside to cool.
- In the same pan, roast the sesame seed and set aside to cool.
- Combine the sesame and cumin and grind to a coarse powder in the food processor.
- Add the green chillies, ginger, and blend until you have a fine, damp coarse texture.
- Add the coriander or mint leaves, lemon juice, and salt and grind to a fine paste.
- Add 1/2 cup water and grind again for a thick runny paste.
- Adjust the salt if required and transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.
