Rice – Cause of weight gain?

The first apprehension for a rice lover, who intends to lose weight, is the omission of this ancient yet blacklisted staple. Rice is usually believed to cause belly fat, owing to its high carbohydrate content. However there’s good news, it is common knowledge that all cereals provide carbohydrates, and hence accusing rice of causing weight gain is baseless. Having said that; when, what combination, or quantity are the factors that decide the fate of rice on your weight.

If you have consumed a small portion of rice with stir fry veggies and a protein food after being physically active, the carbohydrates will help in building glycogen stores in the muscle rather than sit in the belly when you are eating uncontrolled portions of rice after having a physically inactive day.
