Goji Berries are also known as Wolfberries, are native to the mountainous regions of Tibet and China. They are known to be a secret to longevity and strengthening the immune system.

Goji berries are the powerhouse of copper (60% of RDI), vitamin B2, iron, potassium, phytochemicals, good quality plant protein, and incredible amounts of immune-boosting antioxidants.

The Goodness of Goji Berries:

  • They contain eighteen amino acids including all essential ones that make them good quality plant protein. They are a great protein option for vegans and vegetarians.
  • The vibrant red colour of goji berries comes in from a phytochemical, Zeaxanthin that is known to protect from free radical damage.
  • Goji berries improve skin, eye, and hair health.
  • Goji berries are rich in antioxidants, which boost the immune system and protect from frequent colds and flu.
  • They are also known to increase energy levels, mental alertness and improve the quality of sleep.

Goji Berries are widely consumed in their dried form. Dried Goji berries are richer in their antioxidants than fresh ones. Fresh berries are slightly bitter with a sweetish sour taste while the bitterness reduces in the dried form.

Enjoy them either fresh raw, in their dried form, or as a juice.  They can be incorporated in smoothies, breakfast cereal bars, salads, baked goods, desserts, yogurts, and sweet sauces. They can also be rehydrated by soaking them for 10 mins in water and added to various preparations (just like raisins).
